8 Days Uganda Gorilla Wildlife Safari
An eight-day itinerary combining gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest with savannah game drives and a boat safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park — the classic way to see both sides of Uganda's wildlife on a single trip. See our Uganda Tours page for the full country overview behind this itinerary.
Days 1-2: Arrival and Transfer to Bwindi
Arrive into Entebbe and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, either by road or light aircraft depending on your confirmed trekking sector. Settle in ahead of the trek the following morning.
Days 3-4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
An early park briefing, then the trek itself — anywhere from 40 minutes to six hours depending on where the gorilla family has moved overnight — followed by one hour with the family once found. A second day allows for a buffer or an optional community walk. See our Bwindi gorilla trekking guide for the full detail.
Days 5-7: Queen Elizabeth National Park
Transfer to Queen Elizabeth for savannah game drives, the Kazinga Channel boat safari, and a chance at the Ishasha sector's famous tree-climbing lions. See our Queen Elizabeth National Park guide.
Day 8: Departure
Transfer back to Entebbe for your departure flight, or extend with additional nights if you'd like to add Kibale chimpanzee tracking or a beach extension.
Cost
This itinerary includes the US$800 gorilla permit as a separate line item; see our safari budgets page for a fuller cost breakdown.
