Uganda Hotels and Lodges: Where to Stay

Accommodation in Uganda clusters around each park's entrance rather than being spread evenly across the country, so where you stay is largely determined by which parks and trekking sectors are on your itinerary. Here's how the choices break down by region.

Bwindi: Choosing a Sector-Matched Lodge

Bwindi's four trekking sectors — Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga and Nkuringo — are two to three hours' drive apart, so we always match your lodge to your confirmed gorilla permit sector rather than the other way around. Options range from community-run camps to award-winning luxury lodges perched on the forest edge.

Queen Elizabeth National Park

Lodges here cluster around the Kasenyi plains for game drives or along the Kazinga Channel for boat safari access, with options spanning comfortable mid-range tented camps to high-end lodges overlooking the channel itself.

Murchison Falls National Park

Accommodation splits between the north bank, closer to the game-drive circuit, and the south bank near the falls themselves and the boat launch, with a range of tented camps and lodges on both sides.

Kidepo Valley

Kidepo's remoteness means a small number of properties rather than a wide market — mostly a handful of intimate lodges and camps that make the most of the park's isolation and dramatic mountain backdrop.

How We Choose

We match lodge choice to your specific itinerary, confirmed permit sector and budget, prioritising properties with guiding standards we're confident in over simply the most well-known name. See our Uganda Tours page for how accommodation fits into a full itinerary.
